Allison Lefcort 15th April - 15th May 201o
One of America's most collectable pop artists - Allison Lefcort - will be arriving at the gallery on the evening of the 15th of April to launch an exclusive month long exhibition of her work. Her collectors include the 'who's who' of Hollywood as well as royalty and politicians. Lefcort first professionally exhibited in New York at just 17, since then she has become an established Disney Fine artist and her portraits of Grammy award musicians hang in the National Academy of Recording Arts in Los Angeles.
The Art of Star Wars 20th January - 20th February 201o
Generation Pop, one of the most exciting art galleries in the North of England will hold a month long exhibition featuring the “Art of Star Wars”. All the officially licensed artwork is being flown over from Hollywood and will feature work on paper and canvas from legendary conceptual designer Ralph McQuarrie as well as Christian Waggoner and Australian artist Chris Wahl.
Bentley Event 27th - 28th November 2009
A unique collection of art from the styling and design team at Bentley - the British motor company dedicated to the design, engineering and crafting of the worl’s most respected high performance cars - will be exhibited at Generation Pop before being auctioned to raise money for The Christie, a cancer hospital in Manchester. The two day exhibition will appeal to art and car enthusiasts alike with sculptures, painting, digital art and photography that showcase the imagination of the men and women who design Bentley cars. Following the exhibition, the exquisite pieces will be auctioned at an invitation - only evening on 1st December at Bonhams, the fine art auction house in London.
Eric Waugh Exhibition 17th April - 17th May 2009
Our sister gallery in the heart of Manchester city center Generation Pop will be holding a Eric Waugh Exhibition from the 17th April – 17th May 2009. Eric Waugh is one of the most recognizable and collected artists in North America. Waugh creates original art before audiences, painting to the beat of virtually any style of music, capturing its rhythms and energy on his canvas. He has painted “live” with Nellie Furtado, Tony Bennet, & many more. Eric has been featured on CNN, ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS, in People Magazine and also recently performed at “An audience with Larry King and Friends”. For further details please call us on 0161 848 0880.
Frank Worth Exhibition 2nd February - 2nd March 2009
Our sister gallery in the heart of Manchester city center Generation Pop will be holding a Frank Worth Exhibition from the 2nd Feb - 2nd March 2009. As a freelance photographer during the golden age of Hollywood, Frank Worth befriended many of the stars he snapped at parties, on movie sets and at play. He took photos of Hollywood legends, including Sophia Loren, James Dean, Charlton Heston, Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor, whose first wedding he photographed. He was said to have had a relationship with both Jayne Mansfield and Marilyn Monroe, although he only confessed to an affair with Monroe just before he died. It was only when Frank passed away in 2000, penniless, were his photographs discovered in his dilapidated LA apartment. A body of work described by London auction house Christie's as "The most extraordinary collection of its kind in the past 50 years". For further details please call us on 0161 848 0880.
Allison Lefcort 15th - 16th November 2008
To celebrate the opening of our sister gallery Generation Pop in the heart of Manchester, we will be holding an Allison Lefcort event on the opening weekend of the 15th and 16th of November. Allison has created art that is in the collections of a number of Hollywood ‘A list’ celebrities such as Hugh Hefner, Liza Minelli, Barbra Streisand etc as well as royalty and politicians such as Senator Hillary Clinton. The last event Allison flew over for was an amazing experience for collectors as well as us, and this next event, which will be held in such an impressive brand new gallery, should be no different. On the 7th and 8th of September 2007, Allison Lefcort one of America`s most well known pop artists will be at our gallery. Allison will be meeting collectors at a private viewing of her work on the Friday evening. Tickets for this event are limited, please contact us for details. As well as having Allison`s limited edition pieces available we will also be showcasing a range of original works, which she has made available to our collectors.
The Simpsons 17th - 31st July 2007
To celebrate the release of THE SIMPSONS film on the 27th of July, Toons will be holding a stunning Simpsons exhibition from the 17th to the 31st of July. It’s a big year for the Simpsons, it’s not just the release of the film which is getting fans excited, the 400th episode has just premiered and just goes to show that the world’s favourite family is still going strong after all these years. Toons has flown over a fantastic collection of Simpsons limited edition art as well as world wide one off pieces of production artwork that were used in the making of actual episodes. This exhibition gives fans a chance to view, enjoy, and purchase some very rare pieces of art. This is the first time some of these pieces have ever been seen outside of the Hollywood studio. The exhibition is free of course and all visitors will also receive a gift voucher to help see this amazing film. Look forward to seeing you.
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the worlds favourite bear... 4th - 5th November 2006
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the worlds favourite bear, Toons : The Animation Art Company based in the Lowry Shopping Mall, Salford Quays, Manchester will be hosting a weekend long exhibition celebrating the life of Winnie The Pooh. Besides learning a lot more about this bears history, On show will be limited edition artwork flown over from Disney Studios in Hollywood, as well as actual production artwork used in the making of the 2005 Winnie The Pooh film "Heffalump the Movie". Limited edition statues and figurines featuring Winnie and friends will also be on show and be able to be purchased as well as the rare artwork. The exhibition runs on the 4th and 5th of November.
Paul Dini 30th September - 1st October 2006
On the 30th of September and the 1st of October 2006. 5 x Emmy Award Winner Paul Dini the writer behind the hit show LOST, Batman the Animated Series, Superman and many other hit U.S shows is heading to Manchester to take part in the SUPERHERO event behing held at Toons : The Animation Art Company based at Salford Quays in Manchester. Paul Will be meeting fans and signing artwork and actual producion cells used in the making of Batman and Superman animated series during the event.
The Singer Event 18th September 2005
On the 18th of September 2005, Bob Singer appeared at our UK Gallery in Manchester. Bob worked at Hanna-Barbera studios for 30 years, creating characters and working on shows such as Scooby Doo, The Jetsons, Tom & Jerry & dozens more. This was the first time Bob had done an event in Europe, and it was fantastic. We hired a cinema screen and after complimentary food and drinks our collectors had the chance to watch some of the classic Tom & Jerry and Flintstones cartoons on the big screen. Bob then spoke to the audience and drew some of his favourite characters. Bob then signed artwork and met with fans at the after show party. Due to the special relationship we have with Bob, we can offer our collectors the chance to commission a one off piece of animation art by Bob which he will of course sign.

Toons Art at the Ideal Home Show April 2005
April 2005 saw Toons WOWING the crowds at The Ideal Home Show in Manchester, England. Our stand incorporated a massive 8 booths. We were voted the most impressive stand at the show. Over the course of the show our stand entertained TV stars, professional footballers, existing collectors as well as introducing the art we love to new fans.
